Wild Rose School Board approves school musical

The Wild Rose School Board approved a counter service contract during a June 9 meeting. The school nurse contract for the 2023-2024 school year received some changes for the district to consider. The new cost will be $38,098.09. The musical selection for November was approved. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim combine efforts for the musical “Into the Woods” which takes some favorite storybook characters and gives their stories special twists with interesting results. Personnel resignations were accepted from Brett Brooks as the varsity baseball coach and an assistant football coach, as well as from Scott Lamb as the assistant baseball coach. The appointments of Janelle Richard as the assistant principal, Lydia Arnoldussen, as a middle school track and field coach, and Jason Anderson as the middle school wrestling coach were approved by the board. A donation of $1,000 from the Wild Rose Kiwanis for equipment and utensils upgrades for Dave Clark’s classroom met with the board’s approval. The second semester achievement gap reduction (AGR) report was presented by Elementary Principal Matt Wilbert. Upcoming board meetings will be at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, June 22 and July 20. The annual meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 in the auditorium, with a regular board meeting immediately following.
