Ruben Soto, Sr.

Ruben Soto, Sr went home to his heavenly Father April 17th, 2024. He was born August 19th, 1948 in Manhattan, New York City to Tito and Mercedes Soto.
Ruben earned a New York Regents scholarship when he graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn in 1967. It was a competitive statewide examination. He attended UC Berkeley for a year, then transferred to California State University at Hayward where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a major of Ecology/Biology.
Ruben married Margaret Ann Palmer April 22nd, 1981 in Folsom, California. They had a wonderful life together making each other's dreams come true; building their home, raising their children, and traveling.
Ruben was Grampa to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of which he still played board games, card games, and stuffed animals with on a daily basis. He was a loving, strong, wise, gentle, and soft man, husband, father and grand‐ father. He will be greatly missed.
Ruben is survived by his family and children Jerold (Lynne) Reible, Annette (Bryan) Odeman, Beth (Tony) Shannon, Paula Reible, Sarah (Randy) Malthe, his brothers Cris Matos, Robert (Carol) Soto, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Tito Soto; his mother: Mercedes Pla-Soto; wife: Margaret Ann Soto and his son: Ruben Andrew Soto, whom he missed very much.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma with burial in Richford Cemetery. www.leiknessfuneralhome.com
