Following the passing of Jake Van Loon on Feb. 9, friends of his came together to gather donations in Jake’s name to be given to the Wautoma High School Band Program. At this time, the band has received $4,680 in memory of their friend and are working together to use the funds in the best way to honor his legacy. Jake, an avid drummer, sound technician, and friend of the program, worked with band director Kristin Albright and choir director Tommy Dubnicka on a variety of projects throughout the years. Jake set up and ran sound for many concerts and musicals and mentored percussionists in the WHS program - his alma mater.
