Wild Rose School Board accepts new staff members

The Wild Rose School Board considered personnel appointments during a July 20 meeting. The considerations came after a resignation from Jason Kirby, who taught driver’s education, physical education, and adaptive physical education. More consideration is needed for the middle/high school at risk/alternative education teacher and middle school special education teacher positions, Greg Ida was approved as the assistant varsity football coach. Bruce Sternweis and Jesse Landwehr were approved as volunteer football coaches. The board approved all remaining funds from the 2022-23 budgets being transferred to Capital Investment Fund 46. The public notice of student academic standards for the 2023-2024 school year was approved. Student fees were considered for the 2023-24 school year, with a couple changes from this past school year. After consideration the board approved the starting up of an Equestrian Club. A gift of $1,419.99 from the Depot Street Station for fuel purchased at the Spirit Pump located at the Wild Rose C-Store was accepted. During the middle/high school principal’s report it was pointed out that the school may be receiving three international students for the 2023-24 school year. The annual meeting/budget hearing will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 in the auditorium, with a board meeting to immediately follow. The next meeting after that will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24.
