Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter out of concern for the way out Village office staff have been treated and now are retiring and quitting due to the harassment and disrespect shown by our elected officials.
The citizens in the Village of Plainfield take it for granted that all is well and we have no problems. We have pretty much lived with our heads down and not paid much attention.
People have not attended board meetings or asked questions about what is happening to keep our village strong and running smoothly.
I’ve lived here, in the same home, for fifty-seven years and worked on the election board for forty of those years. I am saddened that the board has allowed this travesty to take place. They should be ashamed to be a part of such behavior.
I’m sorry that I’ve had to witnesses this kind of behavior.
After years of efficient service our employees should have received more kind and respectful treatment.
