Wautoma Area School District celebrates breakfast heroes

Subhead

On Apr. 18 WASD Food Service Director Tami Stansbury and many of our cooks were presented with the Breakfast Hero Award on behalf of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, School Nutrition Association of Wisconsin, No Kid Hungry Wisconsin and the Hunger Task Force. National School Breakfast Week was March 7-11, and it’s an annual opportunity to celebrate school nutrition staff and their commitment to ensuring that students start their day ready to learn. March also marks two years since the pandemic outbreak saw schools across Wisconsin balance virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning models. Despite ongoing challenges with the pandemic, supply chain issues, and staffing shortages, Stansbury and her staff continue to demonstrate impressive adaptability and pivot when necessary to meet students’ needs.
