Wild Rose Lions Club hosted the 27-B1 Zone Meeting on Sept. 6 at their club house on Main St. in Wild Rose. The tri yearly Zone Meetings are intended to help the various Waushara County clubs connect and share ideas and successes, while enjoying a meal and social hour.   There was a great turn out with 56 attendees from the six clubs, Poy Sippi Lions, Hancock Lions, Coloma Lions, Redgranite Lions, Plainfield Lions and the Wild Rose Lions.

The guest speaker was Dave Brinkman, District Governor of 27-B1, 2022-2023.  The focus of the evening was “Being of Service”.  He challenged the clubs to go into their communities and seek out the needs and then come up with plans to meet those needs to the best of their abilities. Brinkman also encouraged the clubs to “Tell Their Story”, often the community is aware that they have a local Lions Club but they don’t understand the reach and scope of the Lions Club International.

There are five types of service excellence events that all clubs host yearly, Hunger, Vision, Diabetes Awareness, Environment, and Childhood Cancer.  The clubs 27-B1 clubs excel in this commitment.
