MICHAEL KLAWITTER

Subhead

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, the Klawitter family lost their rock.  Michael “Mikey” Klawitter died peacefully surrounded by his family at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah, at the age of 61, following an accident.

Mike was born on November 14, 1959 in Berlin, to Duane and Carolyn (Mehn) Klawitter.  He graduated in 1978 from Ripon High School.  In 1982, he became a father to daughter, Nicki, and in 1985, they welcomed Sarah.  Mike was a very proud dad and held many jobs to provide for his family including his pig farm, working at the mill, and milking cows.  In 1997, Mike married Brooke Green-McCann. Shortly after, they bought the family farm where they rebuilt the house from the ground up.  He was able to live out his dream of farming on the farm that he grew up on.  Mike held many jobs over the years. Most recently, he worked for Waushara County Solid Waste Collection Site as a Foreman, a job that he absolutely loved.

Anyone that got the privilege of knowing Mike feels blessed to have known this funny, kind, hardworking, humble Christian man.  He was a devoted member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville, and served as church President. Faith was important to him but so was fun.  Mike lived life to the fullest all the time.  He is best known for his amazing Halloween parties, keeping family traditions alive including apple squeezing, the family reunion and farming.  He also had many hobbies including bowling, fishing, traveling and so much more.  Many of us would call him a friend or family but he made the most impact on the ones that call him “Bumpa”.  Whether he was teaching his grandkids how to ride the mini bike, make maple syrup or showing up to one of their many games, recitals or bowling tournaments, he was always so proud to be a grandpa.

Whether you have known Mike your whole life or just a short while, he made everyone feel like family.  His kindness, humor and big heart were infectious and will always be remembered.

Mike is survived by his wife, Brooke; father, Duane “Sonny” Klawitter; two daughters: Nicki (Thomas) Faulkner, and Sarah Klawitter; five grandchildren: Dakota, Olivia, Mason, Nolan and Emmy; brother, Kip (Becky Feyen) Klawitter; two sisters: Amy (John) Krause and Melissa (Dan) Fell; step father, Brian Wilson; step brothers: Dallen Wilson, Scott (Kathy) Wilson, Kelly (Elizabeth) Wilson and Robert (Cherrie) Wilson; step sister, Teresa (David) Brinkman; nieces, nephews and an extended family of relation and friends from every walk of life.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn; and step mother, Alice Klawitter.

Funeral Services for Mike will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville, WI with Pastor Willis officiating.  Friends and family may visit at the church on Saturday, August 28 from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.  Burial will be held in Welch Cemetery in the Town of Aurora.  Divine Passage Funeral Home is proudly serving the Klawitter family during such an emotional and difficult time.  Online condolences can be found at DivinePassageFunerals.com.
