ACEC awards grant for updated electrical for Hancock Park Restoration

Posted

Earlier this summer, Hancock Park Restoration Inc (HPR) was awarded a grant from Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative’s (ACEC) Operation Round-Up program for $2,500 to support electrical upgrades needed at Hancock Park, located on County Road GG on Fish Lake.
“Getting updated electrical throughout the park is the first step to many other upgrades and projects we hope to accomplish,” stated HPR members. Incorporated in 2024, HPR has hosted many successful fundraisers and are eager to continue supporting the park to attract locals and visitors to enjoy all the park has to offer.
The mission of HPR is to improve, restore and maintain Hancock Park for the enjoyment of the public. In 2026, their goals were to contract for a self-serve kayak kiosk, provide additional electric service, and add a storage building to the park. All of their 2026 goals were accomplished through fundraising, donations, and the Operation Round-Up program. Board members of HPR that tackled these projects are Debra Lackey (President), Trish Kujawa (Treasurer), Marilyn Hutkowski (Secretary), and Breonna Klabunde (Marketing Coordinator).
The Operation Round-Up program is funded by ACEC members that choose to voluntarily round up their electric bill to the next dollar amount to donate their spare change to support families and organizations like HPR. To learn more about Operation Round-Up, visit www.acecwi.com/operation-round-up.
