Chris Edward Kentopp, age 64 of Redgranite, passed away peacefully Friday morning, September 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born April 14, 1962 in Oshkosh, a son of Robert and Karen (Buhrow) Kentopp. He was educated in the Oshkosh Schools.
He married Charlotte Irene Eichmann August 3, 1985 at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Charlotte preceded Chris in death August 9, 1997. He then was married to Tammy Petersen.
Chris was a welder, and had been employed by SMC in Oshkosh, and by O’Reilly Auto Parts in Wautoma. He enjoyed working on cars- especially classic cars. He is a long-time owner of a 1966 Ford Fairlane. Chris enjoyed auto racing, circle track, and truck pulling.
He is survived by his son, Martin (Haylee) Kentopp of Redgranite, 2 daughters, Amanda Buckner of Redgranite, and Sam (Seth) Handel of Omro, 2 granddaughters, Paislee Kentopp and Evelyn Handel, a brother, Joe (Anne) Kentopp of Oshkosh, and a sister, Lisa (Larry) Bauknecht of Eagle River, other relatives, and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, and his parents.
Funeral Services for Chris Kentopp will be held Thursday, October 1 st. at 11:00 A.M. at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite. Pastor Mike Levenhagen will officiate. Following these Services Chris will be laid to rest beside his wife Charlotte in the Redgranite Foster Road Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday Only, prior to the Services at the Ruminski Funeral Home.
Memorials will be appreciated in Chris’ memory in place of flowers.
