David Anthony Swan passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona, at the age of 93. Dave was born on June 2, 1932, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to parents Alvin Albert Swan and Milly Edith (Baker) Swan. As the oldest child, he grew up alongside his siblings, Dennis, John and Priscilla.
Dave met his bride, Gail Gitzinger, at the Jolly Green Giant Canning Factory in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and were married August 29, 1959, celebrating 66 years of devoted marriage and together they welcomed five beautiful children. Dave led a full life with time in the military and becoming a teacher with the Madison School District in Wisconsin. One of his most favorite places to be was in Wautoma, Wisconsin on Silver Lake before relocating and retiring to Goodyear, Arizona.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Gail; his children, Diane (David) Thomason, Mark (Vicki) Swan, Sara Swan Brayton, Steven (Rebecca) Swan, and Barbara Swan; his sister, Priscilla; his 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
