Donald Michael Paeth Jr. (Don), age 68, of Berlin, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024.
Don was born on May 29, 1956, in Berlin, Wisconsin, to Donald Theodore and Mary (Hoppa) Paeth. In his younger years, Don was an outstanding wrestler at Berlin High School. When he wasn't wrestling, you could find him sighting his gun or in the woods hunting. He remained passionate about guns and hunting throughout his life.
After high school, Don briefly attended the University of Wisconsin - Platteville before deciding to travel west where he spent some of the best years of his life working, hunting, fishing and rodeoing in Wyoming and Montana.
After returning to Wisconsin, Don took a job as a butcher and later at Alliance Laundry of Ripon (formerly Speed Queen) where he spent most of his career as a press operator until health issues forced him to retire early.
Don married Amy Schultz in 1986. They had 2 children, Megan Paeth of Plover, Wisconsin and Donald Joseph (DJ) (Jordan) Paeth of Boise, Idaho. Don and Amy divorced in 1993.
Don met and married Donna (DJ) Dahl on September 16, 2006. Don loved horses, hunting, rodeo, the Packers and Brewers, spending time in nature, cutting wood, and being an active member of the Lions Club in Redgranite, Wisconsin where he met in 2004 and later proposed to Donna during bingo. Don and Donna really enjoyed playing cribbage with Donna's parents Pat and Dan Becker. Most of all, Don loved being a grandpa to his two beautiful granddaughters, Collins Paeth (DJ and Jordan) and Remy Paeth (Megan).
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Paeth; an infant sister, Nancy; his step‐ mother, Joan Paeth; his mother-in-law, Patricia Becker; and father-in-law, Daniel Becker.
Surviving are his wife, Donna (DJ); his children, DJ (Jordan) and Megan; two granddaughters, Collins and Remy; sister, Connie (Patrick) Parno; nieces, Emily and Alexis Pomplun; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Honoring Don’s wishes, he is to be cremated and requested that a service not be held in his honor. In lieu of a service, Don would want his family and friends to spend a little more time with loved ones this holiday season. As a tribute to Don, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association or simply cheering a little bit louder for the Packers and Brewers.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Patriot Place, Generations Hospice and ThedaCare Berlin for all their patience, kindness and care given to Don and his family. For more information, please refer to www.wieckiskipchakfuneralhome.com.
