Gary was born on January 31, 1949, in Berlin to Marlin and Ruth Schwersenska. He graduated from Highschool in Westfield WI in 1968.
One year later he married the love of his life and lifelong partner Sandra Londowski on Nov. 8, 1969.
Gary was employed by Berlin Foundry until its closure. He also worked for Kipplin Farming, Olsen's Mill, Phoenix Coaters, Carew Concrete, and concluded his career with Midas Construction.
Those who knew Gary would describe him as witty, sarcastic, and always able to make people laugh. He could be stubborn at times, but he loved deeply. If you were fortunate enough to be part of his circle, you knew you could always count on him. Gary was never hesitant to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or neighbors whenever they needed it Gary was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing in every season and was an avid hunter. One of his greatest joys was passing along his knowledge and skills to his two sons and spending quality time with his family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Ruth Schwersenska, and his sister, Donna.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; his sons, Lonnie (Dorothy) and Richard (Andrea); his grandchildren, Heather, Jon, Amee, Hunter, Amber, and Jordan; his great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Drake; his brothers, David, Steven, Thomas, and Dale; sisters, Lisa, Carol, and Beverly; and many other cherished family members and friends.
There will be a celebration of life at 343 Kennedy Drive in Berlin on July 11, 2026 from 12-4:00 p.m.
