There’s no place like home for Wautoma, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 63-58 win over the Wisconsin Dells Chiefs on Thursday, February 12. Wautoma smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games. Wautoma’s win was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points over those games.
Wautoma’s success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up. Peyton Pica posted 21 points and six boards. Carson Rose scored 16 points on 8 of 9 shooting. Skyler Royston had his 5th double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds, along with six assists. Elijah Graser was dominant on boards by grabbing 16. Marshall Woyak dished out five assists. Grant Kulibert, Jett Richard, and Angel Salinas gave the Hornets a lift off the bench with quality minutes and timely plays.
Wautoma’s win improves their record down to 6-14 and now 3-8 in the South Central Conference.
