How can your recycling help animals in need?

At Waushara County Animal Shelter, we’re turning something ordinary - aluminum cans - into something extraordinary: food, medical care, toys, and warm beds for our animals. It’s all part of our ongoing Cans for Critters fundraiser, and if you’ve ever wondered how your recycling could help homeless pets, here’s your answer!
The idea is simple: bring us your aluminum cans, toss them in our drop-off area, and we’ll recycle them for cash to support the animals in our care. It’s easy, it’s impactful, and dare we say... it’s paw-some!
We’ve already received a fantastic response from the community, and we appreciate every single can that’s come through. Whether it’s a small bag or a carload, it all makes a difference.
Of course, our shelter residents have a few words of their own:
Puss in Boots, our official feline fundraiser and recycling connoisseur, wants everyone to know : “We think you’re purrrrrr-fect for helping us out!”

And Woody, our longest-term resident pup, had this to add (with a tail wag): “Droppin’ off cans? Now that’s what I call a fetching good deed!”
If you want to join in the fun and help animals like Puss in Boots and Woody, you can drop off cans anytime. Just look for the collection bin to the right of our gated shelter entrance: N1748 State Rd 22, Wautoma, WI 54982
Together, we’re turning cans into care and having a little fun along the way. The critters (and their humans) at Waushara County Animal Shelter sure do appreciate it!
