Brandon J Lawhon, 25 years of age, from Janesville has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Wausau Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with two children in the vehicle under the age of 16.
On July 6, a trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Wausau Post stopped a 2008 Kia Sedona on Interstate 39 in Waushara County, for a speeding violation. While in contact with the driver, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the vehicle and observed two juvenile passengers, ages five and one, seated in the vehicle. The driver displayed indicators of impairment and a subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, indicated the driver was impaired. The 25-year-old male driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, first offense, with a passenger under 16 years of age. He was also charged with possession of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of a prescription medication. In addition, he was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver license (second offense). The juvenile passengers were released to a responsible adult.
