Join Plainfield Library for a conversation about increasing accessibility

Posted

Plainfield wants to hear from you! We received our national grant, and now we are inviting you to join our library for a discussion of how we can improve the accessibility of the library for neurodiverse individuals, families and caretakers, in addition to individuals with vision, hearing, or other disabilities.

We believe strongly that everyone belongs, and stories grow best when rooted in accessibility, equity, inclusivity and support. We know that the best way to nurture these roots is by having conversations with neurodiverse individuals, families, and caretakers, in addition to those with other disabilities. Your input is critical to how we build accessibility in our library: we cannot do it without you.

The public discussion will be held on Thursday, July 16 from 6-7 p.m. Please RSVP by Monday, July 13. This event will be held at Plainfield Library in the Meeting Room.

Plainfield Library is proud to offer this event, which is part of Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) in collaboration with the Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL).
