Joyce passed away at her home with her family by her side.
Joyce was the second daughter born to Charles and Evelyn (Thurston) Fuller on December 1, 1940 in a snowstorm. Growing up she enjoyed being outside, working on the farm with her father or playing and riding bike. She attended Spring Lake grade school where she was an avid softball player. She graduated with honors from Wautoma High School in 1958. While attending high school Joyce enjoyed playing in the school band.
She married her high school sweetheart, LeRoy Weisjohn, on May 14, 1960. They had two children, a son, Richard, and a daughter, Debra. Her faith was foremost in her life.
She enjoyed reading the bible and daily devotionals as well as attending church services and watching bible study programs on TV. She was an avid golfer and she and her husband, Lee, also enjoyed many golf trips. Joyce was a member of Waushara Country Club and played in the Ladies’ League for 30 years earning many awards. She also played on the Mt. Morris Ladies Trading Post softball team. Joyce was a serious wildflower gardener and she enjoyed vegetable gardening and biking.
Joyce volunteered at the Second Time Around Shop in Berlin for 30 years, she was also a volunteer for Hospice, tape ministries at her church and the Waushara Co PALS program over the years. She was employed by the Wautoma Area School District as a bus driver for 12 years, enjoying the children and driving the girls’ sports teams.
Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rita Weisjohn of Wautoma and daughter, Debra Plein & grandson, Andrew Plein, of Appleton. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, LeRoy, her parents, Charles and Evelyn Fuller and in-laws Leonard and Selma Weisjohn, a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy & Orv Lehr, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Arlene & John Sheasby and a nephew, Mike Sheasby.
A Christian funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 W. Elm Street, Wautoma. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 at the church with a service to follow at 11:00.
The family would like to thank the entire ThedaCare Hospice team, and in particular Jody, Niki & Paula, as well as Drs. Hiltgen and Geck with Aurora Medical for their kindness and medical care. In addition, the family thanks Pastor Bohn & Pastor Rohde for their steadfast spiritual care and all of Joyce’s dear friends who sent cards and made phone calls to keep her connected & let her know you cared. She, and we, appreciated it greatly.
