Patrick Henry Quimby, age 83 of rural Wautoma, formerly of Redgranite, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at his home in the Town of Mount Morris. He had been in failing health.
Pat was born March 22, 1942 at home near the Terrill’s Corners School, north of Redgranite in Waushara County. He was raised in Waushara County and attended the Wild Rose High School. After his time at Wild Rose High School, Pat enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Viet Nam for 9 months, and was wounded, during his 4 years of Active Duty from 1962 to 1966.
Following his Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps, Pat was employed at the General Motors Plant in Flint, Michigan. He was then employed at Kalupa Construction in Berlin, until becoming employed at C. R. Meyer & Sons Contractors of Oshkosh. Pat was a heavy equipment operator there from 1980 until he retired in 2004.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Local Union #139. Pat was admired by many. He gave 100% to everything that he did. His sons, daughter, and grandkids were awarded 2 names- the one given to them at birth, and the “nickname” that Pat gave them.
Pat was a founder of the Bugle mouth Bass Club of Berlin. He enjoyed archery, fishing, playing and watching softball games. He also coached softball teams In short you could say he had a Passion for Baseball. He was also proud to be a Marine.
Survivors include his sons and daughter, James Patrick (Julie) Quimby, Corrie Patrick (Angela Timm) Quimby, and Kevin Patrick Quimby, all of Redgranite; his daughter, Alyssa (William) Larson of Appleton; his grandchildren, Katelyn ”Buff”, Amber “Hammer”, Brandon “Bert”, Billie “Beed” (L. J.) Gillet, “Stove Pipe”, Cori “Stunk” and Reed “Weed”; great-grandchildren, Kailey Renolds, Cassie “Sassy” Mosier, Taylor “Jimmy”. Parker, Jack, and one on the way, Jace, Alayah, and Kinsley. Pat is also survived by 2 sisters, Gladys Nimmer of Berlin, and Pearl Erdman of Lewiston, Idaho, and a brother, Dan Quimby of Redgranite; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, John Walter and Ruth J. (Mattice) Quimby, and his canine companions, Wubby #1 and Wubby #2.
FUNERAL SERVICES for Patrick Henry Quimby were held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite. Deacon Robert Precourt officiated. Full Military Honors were accorded at the conclusion of the Services at the funeral home.
VISITATION: Relatives and friends called at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Friday prior to the time of Services.
