Paula J. Wobschall

Paula Jean Wobschall, age 78 of Berlin, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, October 17, 2024 at Ascension Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.

Paula was born August 21, 1946 in Berlin, a daughter of Harold and Louise (Secora) Wacholtz. She was raised on the family farm in the Town of Warren, Waushara County. She attended the Victory School, Redgranite and Berlin Schools, and was a 1964 Graduate of the Berlin High School. Paula was confirmed at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Redgranite, where she taught Sunday School, and later joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Fairburn (rural Berlin.) She married Rex Brasch. They later divorced.

Paula collected cookie jars and giraffes. She enjoyed canning, baking, and cooking. She truly was “Betty Crocker.” She enjoyed her time at the hunting shack, with her sons, - hunting from the shack! Her favorite thing to do was spoiling her grandchildren.

On August 18, 1990 she married Russell Wobschall. Together they took bus trips, family trips, gambled, played cards, and had fun. What a ride! Paula did child care in her home for forty years, retiring in 2013.

Paula is survived by her husband, Russell, 2 Sons, Harold (Cathy) Brasch and Donald Brasch, a daughter, Renee (Ron) Magdanz, a sister, Cathy Sue Nikolai, 2 grandchildren, Jacob (Naomi) Brasch, and Parker James Brasch (fiancé Miya), and her special girls, Tammy (Dylan) Wenzel, Amy (Shelly) Pope, the Fleegal girls- the last of the golden girls, Sharon Rhodes; 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Lou Wacholtz and Ramona Wacholtz.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Emilie Drover, her brothers, Dennis and Richard Wacholtz, a brother-in-law, Scott Nikolai, and a granddaughter, Elysabeth Oppermann, and her pet goat, Toby.

Memorial Services for Paula Jean Wobschall will be held Saturday, October 26th. at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, W3166 County Road F (Fairburn, rural Berlin). The Rev. Gregory Sluke, Pastor will officiate. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. prior to the Memorial Service at the Church.
