On Monday, Oct. 27, the Never Forgotten Honor Flight Mission 54 will transport six U.S. Military Veterans from the Rogers-Oestrich Post 343 of the American Legion in Hancock/Coloma/Plainfield to Washington, D.C. These veterans, all of whom served in the military in 1975 or earlier, will be joined by their guardians from Post 343, including Nate Coward, Jerry Geers, Mike Wiles, and Erik Johnston from the newly formed Squadron 343 Sons of the American Legion.

Bob Warzynski•Military Service: He was a Machinist’s Mate in the U.S. Navy for four years. His duties ranged from making electricity with steam turbine generators to distilling seawater into drinkable water, and maintaining heating and air conditioning plants for a small floating city.
•Post 343 Involvement: After his service, he immediately joined the American Legion to stay engaged with and maintain contact with his fellow veterans. He was a member of the Department (state) of Wisconsin without a specific post affiliation until about a year ago, when he transferred into Post 343.
