Sandra "Sandy" Dee Gombos, age 81, passed away peacefully on May 13th at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton. She was born December 9, 1944 to Lowell and Florence Stout in Hammond, Indiana. Her siblings were Jackie, Tom, Sally, Danny & Jim.   On December 23, 1962, she married Eugene Gombos, Sr and they started a family. Sandy was dearly loved and survived by her six children: Eugene Gombos, Kathy (Juan) Guzman, Rachel Gombos, Joshua (Gail) Gombos, Crystal (Trevor) Gonzales-Miller, and Jonathan Gombos. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amber (Jacob) Juslen, Ashlyn (Lee) Miller, Sierra (Jared) Ammon, Collin Gonzales, Daniel, Evan, Wyatt and Kaiser Gombos, Melanie and Collin Recore as well as one grandchild, Juniper Rose, along with many of her neices and nephews. Sandy was also survived by her sister, Sally Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene who died on April 27, 2006.   Our mother loved dancing, traveling, gathering with her family & friends and was known for her home-made fudge, cinnamon rolls and pizza.   Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 4, 1968, Sandy loved sharing her faith. Having come to know Jehovah God as a tender and loving Father, she wanted others to know Him as well. So, Sandy volunteered as a full-time minister for more than 23 years, offering free Bible courses.   Her hope was bright and sure of a future paradise that God will bring on the earth. Our mother's confidence was strong that she too would be resurrected to live forever on an earth without sickness, pain or sorrow! (Psalm 37:29- "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.") She prayed for God's Kingdom- a real, heavenly government with Jesus Christ as King- to come. (Matthew 6:9) By means of this Kingdom, Sandy had faith that "God will be with mankind" and that He will "wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." (Revelation 21:3, 4) She loved people and wanted others to gain comfort from these promises.  Our family wish to sincerely thank the staff at ThedaCare Medical Center for their gentle care of her. Also, all of her medical providers, including Dr Richard Santa Cruz and Megan Bartelt, L.Ac, among many others.   We especially want to thank our local congregation as well as brothers everywhere for their loving support! Additionally, we deeply appreciated the guidance and support of the HLC.  Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 454 E Chicago Rd, Wautoma, WI 54982 on May 30th at 2pm. Meal to follow. Cards can be sent to: Gombos Family at W5499 Cottonville Dr, Wautoma, WI 54982.
