Quilts of Valor Foundation began in 2003. Volunteers donate their time and materials to make a quilt. Since its launch, the foundation has become one of the country’s largest quilting non-profits, delivering more than 327,000 handmade quilts to service members and veterans. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”
