Tim Borud introduced as Extension Community Development Educator

Posted
Waushara County is pleased to introduce Tim Borud as the new Extension Community Development Educator. Through a partnership between Waushara County and the University of Wisconsin Madison - Extension, Borud will be working to support Waushara County, its local governments, and its people through education focused on organizational and leadership development. His efforts will be supported by Extension’s Community Development Institute and specifically the Organizational and Leadership Development program area. Resources he will have access to include research, educational programs, information, and tools that support meaningful engagement and the capacity of individuals and organizations to take action for the good of Wisconsin communities.

Two priorities that Waushara County has identified as immediate needs for the Extension Community Development Educator are strategic planning and land-use comprehensive planning.

Within the work of strategic planning, Borud will be assisting, supporting and educating county department heads to develop the confidence, capability, cognition and connection needed to carry out this process.

Within comprehensive planning, Borud will help educate county and local governments and local planning commissions in the comprehensive planning process. He will also assist them in gathering public input from community members on future needs and goals within those local units of government.
