Vezina brothers raise over $1,000 for local police department

The Wautoma Police Department would like to extend our gratitude to the Vezina boys and family for their incredible generosity and community spirit.
Through their hard work and dedication, they organized a bake sale that raised more than $1,000. They chose to donate every dollar to our department to help purchase external hard drives used to securely store digital evidence in child sexual abuse investigations. We had an increase in these investigations this year, and the costly hard drives were not in the operating budget.
After presenting their donation to the department, the boys had the opportunity to spend time with our officers during a rifle training session. They observed the training and got a behind-the-scenes look at the commitment our officers make to maintaining the skills necessary to keep our community safe.
The boys also learned that the patrol rifles used during the training were purchased entirely through generous community donations, meaning no taxpayer funds were used to acquire them. Their own donation continues that tradition of community support by helping provide the specialized equipment needed to investigate serious crimes and protect victims.
Please join us in thanking the Vezina boys for their outstanding generosity and commitment to making our community a safer place. We are truly grateful for your support and were honored to share part of our training day with you.
