Wild Rose Village Board receives request to place historic courthouse statues

Posted

Three people desired an audience during the Wild Rose Village Board meeting on March 5, including a request to place historic statues in the village from the Waushara County Courthouse.
Ruth Zouski from the Waushara County Courthouse was there to discuss the possible placement of the two statues from the old courthouse being relocated to the Wild Rose Legion helicopter memorial site on HWY 22. The county will pay for the placement of the statues, however there are still some logistics to figure out. The board thought they would be a great addition to the Wild Rose community.
Al Jenks talked about the car show committee continuing to provide the flowers for the hanging flower baskets and the potted flowers. It was discussed coming up with a new plan on how to keep all the flowers watered.
Dylan Testin was seeking approval for an additional street closure for the Saturday of the car show in September, along with the Friday street closure. It will be an Octoberfest kind of event. He will bring his proposal to a future board meeting.
The police chief report included attending a chief conference, taser training, one warrant arrest, and three emergency detentions.

The Mill Restoration committee is planning on having flowers planted around the mill. Kent Barnard, WR Library Director, is talking with Teri from Garden Villa. The local 4H group, Pine River Rainbows, will be helping with this project.
The library report also noted that Spanish classes are being attended by about four to five people each class. They will start showing movies again, beginning on March 10th. They will be having a grand opening for Job Pod on Tuesday, April 8th at 5 p.m.
The board went on to approve:
*Shelmet billing revision.
*Request for Lindsey Inda to carry over 40 vacation hours.
*TIF closure by Resolution #2025-02.
*Resolution #2025-03.
