American Legion 343 honors long-time members

The American Legion 343 Auxiliary of Hancock, Coloma, and Plainfield presented Clarice Babe with a 25+ year membership award and Lucy Vezina with a 40+ year membership award. Both are pictured with Virginia McGregor.

Post 343 Legionnaire of the Year went to Sergeant at Arms Howard Griffith, a US Army Veteran of over 40 years, involved as a weapons instructor. He said, "It's an honor to receive this, showing the Legion cares about their members, recognizing the volunteer work we do." The Legion and Auxiliary welcome questions on joining the organization and making an impact on our community. More information can be found on the group's Facebook page.

The first-ever Quilt of Conspicuous Post 343 Legion Family Service was presented to Virginia McGregor, a Veteran of the US Army in the Military Police section. She’s a member of the Legion Post serving on the Events/Planning Committee and is also the President of the Legion Auxiliary Unit 343.
