David Gilbert Belfeuil, age 88 of rural Redgranite, Town of Warren, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at Aspire Senior Living in Oshkosh. He had been in failing health for a number of years.

Dave was born June 13, 1937 in Oshkosh, a son of Gilbert and Mary Belfeuil. He was a 1956 Graduate of Princeton High School, where he lettered in football. He married his high school sweetheart, Marny Colene Huber August 25, 1956 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Marny preceded Dave in death on Mother’s Day, May 11th. of this year after 69 years of marriage.

Dave served his country in the Army from 1956 to 1961 first as a radio operator, then as a member of Army Intelligence in Germany and in the States.

He had lived in Green Lake and in Oshkosh prior to moving to Redgranite in 1968. Following his time in the army, he operated a radio shop in Green Lake for a time. He was then employed as a Corrections Officer at the Wisconsin State Prison in Waupun. He was a member of the Waushara County Sheriff Department, beginning as a radio operator, then as a patrol officer, and was Chief Investigator until he retired in 2009. He then worked as a police officer for the Village of Redgranite until his retirement from law enforcement.

Dave’s dedication to service to his community also included being a Boyscout master, involvement in the little league baseball program, membership in the Redgranite Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club, and membership in St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Redgranite. Dave also served as a Deputy Waushara County Coroner for both Ben Brownell and Roland Handel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include 4 sons, Jeffrey of Cody, Wyoming, George, Brian (Priscilla), and David John Belfeuil, all of Redgranite; his grandchildren, Daina, Josh, Joey, Saamantha, McKenzie, Bailee, Stevie Jo, Colton, and Taylor, and his great-grandchildren, Chauntell, Denisha, Adrian, Rhett, Kipp, Arya, Weston, Finley, and Winnie, and 2 sissters, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marny, a son, Craig, a grandson, C. J., and his parents, Gilbert and Mary Belfeuil.

A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Redgranite Lions Club Hall, 145 Dearborn Street, located behind the Redgranite Public Library. Full Military Honors will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Lions Club Hall.

Dave will be laid to rest beside his wife, Marne in the Princeton City Cemetery.

Memorials will be appreciated in Dave’s memory in place of flowers.
