Delton Franks, age 98, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 11, 1928, in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, the son of Lloyd and Opal (Footit) Franks.Delton worked for 39 years at Consolidated Papers, and served his country in the National Guard.
On August 26, 1950, Delton married Marion Gethers in Bancroft, Wisconsin. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage, raising their family and creating a lifetime of memories. Marion preceded him in death on February 2, 2015.
Delton enjoyed hunting, family fishing trips to Canada, going to the casino, family trips to Mexico, watching the kids ballgames, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Delton loved reading and word search puzzles, and attending Crossview Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Delton treasured his time spent with family.
Delton is survived by his son, Rick (Sheila) Franks, two daughters, Sandra (Gerry) Lowe and Cheryl (Curt) Evenson; his grandchildren, Danielle (Jon) Wenzel, Michelle (Justin) Bodette, Mitchell (Nicole) Lowe, Lisa Franks, Eric Franks, Jessica Dulak, Colton Evenson, Halee Evenson; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan Johnson, Kelly Franks, Christian Smith, Bennet Smith, Jack Wenzel, Laike Bodette, Maya Bodette, Kaydance Schneider and Teagan Schneider. He is further survived by many other friends and relatives.
Delton was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Opal Franks, his loving wife, Marion Franks, his son, James Franks, his sister Patricia Chamberlain, his brothers, Rolland and James Franks, and three grandchildren, Scott Franks, Tanya Franks, and Justin Dulak.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Visitation was held from 9:00am until 12:00 noon, with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon. Delton will be laid to rest next to his wife, Marion, at Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield, Wisconsin.
