New Hancock homeowner, Brandon Smithers, got a hug from his son Silas. They moved here from Colorado and year ago and have been remodeling one of the oldest, previously the grandest homes near the lake. "It has been a challenge, but we have discovered unusual items in the home and some stories, too."

Nellie, a boxer Jack Russell mix, was anxious to visit with everyone passing by during the Hancock parade. Owners Chip and Lori Scheffner of Deerfield enjoyed watching the children run for candy and the parade participants.

Shyloe Triechel and RJ Petrusky of the 4-Corners 4-H Club manned the booth for the bouncy houses and free games for local children. The club is open to children of all ages, interests, and abilities. They can be reached via the group's Facebook page.

Enjoying the Hancock Fire Department home-cooked breakfast are the Fischer family: Danielle, Richard, Ea, Alice, and Rose. They were joined by grandparents Jordan and Sarah Herman. They have owned property in Hancock since 1966.
