Fall is here, and it’s time for the Annual Scarecrow Festival in Neshkoro. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Stan-O-Gene Park, which is located on Hwy 73 just north of the Village of Neshkoro. The park has a large level area for vendors, a covered pavilion to enjoy food and beverages, handicap accessible washrooms, and plenty of space for parking.
We have free face painting and free cookie decorating for the children. We also have a variety of children’s games and a Kid Scavenger Hunt. New this year will be hayrides for the entire family. In addition, we have Living Anew Farms with their therapy horses, rescue animals from both Little Orphan Animal Rescue and Great Pyrenees Rescue, and the Neshkoro Fire Department to share safety advice. There will be raffles, including a bike raffle for the children. While the children are busy playing in a safe environment, adults can shop for their favorite items at the vendor booths and enjoy good food and beverages while listening to the DJ play your favorite music.
Our Scarecrow Fest would not be complete without our Scarecrow Contest. We have two categories to enter: Business/Organization and Individual/Family. Again this year, our Scarecrows will be displayed on the light posts on Main Street in Neshkoro, so our entire community can enjoy them. Voting for your favorite will only take place at the Scarecrow Fest.
Plan to come and spend a few hours of family-filled fun in a small-town atmosphere. For more information, please visit our website: neshkorowi.gov
