The Wild Rose Ladycats entered into the WIAA playoff season with a 10-16 overall record and a #9 ranking. The team hit the road to face off in the first two rounds of regionals.
The team first traveled to face off against the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah girls basketball team on Feb. 24 in the WIAA Regional Quarterfinal game. Alyson Henschel leads the Wild Rose Ladycats to victory over the Lady Resorters 52-48. Alyson scored 27 points by going 10-16 from the field, including 3-3 from the 3 point line and 4-6 from the free throw line. Also contributing to the Regional win was Celia Christianson with 9 points and 5 assists, Harper Shipley with 8 points and 6 rebounds, Maelynn Fischback with 4 points and 6 rebounds, and Rachel Ballinger with 3 points and 5 rebounds,
The Ladycats move on to face #1 seed Sheboygan Lutheran in the Regional semi-final game on Feb. 27. Following a heart-pounding fight to the finish, the Ladycat basketball season would come to a close with a 23-67 loss to the Lady Crusaders.
