Victor R. Ruiz, age 93, of Hancock, passed at his home with his loving family at his side on February 8, 2025.
He was born February 27, 1931 in Pacana, Jalisco, Mexico. He married Helen Holmes on January 4, 1960, in Chicago and together they had three loving children, Margaret, Sharise and John.
Victor came to the Hancock area in 1959 where he was working as a laborer. This is where he found the love of his life, Helen. Victor became a well known executive chef in the Stevens Point area working for Holiday Inn. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. His great love for serving people was evident in his support of the Waushara County Food Pantry.
Victor is survived by his two daughters, Margaret (Dennis) Bader, Wisconsin Rapids, Sharise Ruiz, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Chrislyn (Mark), and Ryan (Steph); Six great grandchildren, Monet, Alexander, Irith, Lillian, Emma, and Jude; survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, John Ruiz and siblings, Benjamin, Victoria, Maria, and Zepharino.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield followed by military honors. A visitation was held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Victor will be laid to rest in the Colburn/Leola Cemetery.
