Waushara Community YMCA nears completion, hiring begins for full-time and part-time positions

Posted

Construction on the new Waushara Community YMCA is nearing completion, and the Y is inviting the community to watch for updates as the facility prepares to open its doors. Current progress shows a completion of construction at the end of October with an early November Grand Opening. An official opening date will be announced in the coming weeks!
The Waushara Community YMCA, a branch of the Stevens Point YMCA, has been built to serve people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds across Waushara County. The new facility will offer an aquatic center, a licensed child care center, a wellness center, fitness classes, and welcoming spaces for the whole community to gather.
Now Hiring
With opening on the horizon, the Waushara Community YMCA is hiring for a variety of full-time and part-time positions, including:
Aquatic Center staff (lifeguards, swim instructors)

Child Care Center staff
Member Services staff
Wellness Center staff
Fitness Instructors
Interested applicants can apply online at www.spymca.org/jobs.
Charter Membership Events
The Waushara Community YMCA will also be hosting upcoming charter membership events, giving community members an early opportunity to join the Y as founding members. Dates, times, and locations for these events will be announced soon — watch the Y’s website and social media pages for details.
Fundraising Progress
The Waushara Community YMCA project has also made tremendous progress toward its $16.5 million fundraising goal, with nearly all of the funding needed to complete the project now secured. Thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses, foundations and community partners, the YMCA has been able to move forward with the full vision for the facility, including the ability to build the community’s new aquatic center.
As the project approaches completion, approximately $200,000 remains to be raised to fully close the fundraising gap. The YMCA is inviting the community to help bring the campaign across the finish line and ensure that this transformational facility opens with the resources needed to serve Waushara County for generations to come.
Individuals, businesses and organizations interested in supporting the project are encouraged to contact Ryan Zietlow, CEO, at rzietlow@spymca.org to learn more about how they can help close the remaining gap.
