Westfield Lady Pioneers took on the Marshfield Lady Tigers in what started looking like a tough game on Feb. 7.
Marshfield was first on the board. Both teams displayed great defense, but the Lady Tigers were missing too many hoops and offensive coordination as time went by. Ending of the first period saw the Lady Pioneers in the lead 28-27.
Second period found the Lady Pioneers pulling ahead, while the Lady Tigers were still unable to make many of their shots. As the Tigers pushed the press, the number of fouls enabled the Pioneers to pull ahead for a 59-50 win.
Haddie Showen topped the scoreboards with 32-points, including three 3-pointers. Halle Drew put up 13 points of her own, followed by Holly Goodwin and Kaden Hockerman each with 7.
This improved the Lady Pioneers record to 17-3 overall this season. Westfield is currently first in the South Central Conference with a 6-1 SCC record.
