Cindy Scheer, owner of Wautoma Garden Center and Floral, took over the Christmas cookie walk event in 2025. Proceeds from the event have gone back into the community as part of a flower and planters project that will bring new life to downtown Wautoma.
The city provided funds to purchase initial planters, which have been filled with beautiful flowers and feature business names on the outside of each planter. Currently there are 16 planters, but there will be more to come. Each business will share the responsibility of caring and watering the plants.
Downtown Wautoma hopes this will create a more inviting atmosphere in the area.
