The heart and mission of 920Pink

Posted

What started as a diagnosis has become a close and personal mission for 920Pink founder, Tiffany Morris. Earlier this year, she was devastated to find out she was diagnosed with stage 1 triple-negative mammary carcinoma. As she started to process her diagnosis and navigate treatment, she wondered what this new chapter of life would look like.
Everything changed during one of her cancer treatments, when she noticed free items from care packages other patients had received that were brought in to let others take what they needed. Morris realized that this simple gesture could have a significant impact during difficult times. “Even the smallest acts of kindness can make someone feel a little less alone,” she reflected.
She began brainstorming care package ideas with her cousin, which would be filled with comfortable and encouraging items to remind recipients that they were cared for. From there, 920Pink was born.
“This is more than a nonprofit to me. It’s personal. It’s my story. It’s a way to turn something devastating into something that can help others,” shared Morris.
920Pink serves as a support system wherever needed throughout a patient’s cancer journey. Each care package contains locally sourced, natural products to support someone in breast cancer treatment or surgery. Some of these items include lotions, soaps, lavender rice bags, cozy socks, personalized handwritten notes, awareness pins, candy to soothe nausea, natural teas, or any other comforting essentials. Package contents vary depending on availability, but each one is assembled with care and compassion. 920Pink has provided care packages to both women and men (who can also be diagnosed with breast cancer, though less common).

This is only the beginning for 920Pink.
Morris understands firsthand how overwhelming treatment can be. Small changes can become an emotional breaking point; therefore, 920Pink will establish local support groups. You are not alone in the journey of navigating the emotional and mental health challenges that can accompany a cancer diagnosis. By the end of 2027, 920Pink hopes to expand services to include financial assistance grants for local individuals affected by breast cancer, depending upon available funding and resources.
On October 11, 920Pink hosted the Think Pink 5K Run/Walk in Berlin. Participants ran/walked in honor of loved ones. What made the day even more special were women who had already fought breast cancer or were currently navigating treatment, who took on the 5K to prove to themselves they could do it. It was remarkable to see the strength, determination, and courage they displayed, serving as a powerful reminder of 920Pink’s purpose.
Care packages are currently available for: Oconto, Outagamie, Brown, Door, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Fond Du Lac, Winnebago, Calumet, Waushara, Green Lake, Marquette, Dodge, Jefferson, and Columbia counties. To request a package, visit 920pink.com and click the “request care packages” tab. Morris will personally read through every single request.
If you are interested in supporting 920Pink’s mission, their biggest request is donations for the care packages. They welcome comforting items, such as Aquaphor lotion and other gentle skincare products, ginger candies to help with nausea, cozy, comfy socks, soaps, lotions, and self-care items, or other thoughtful comfort items to brighten someone’s day during treatment.
You can also mail monetary donations to:

Morris reminds readers that breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women worldwide. One in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer. In many cases, it’s related to your genes, so check for any history of diagnosis in your family.
You are not alone in your breast cancer journey, and 920Pink is here to support you, one act of kindness at a time.
