We ARE in Christ coordinating hygiene drive

Members of We ARE in Christ, a faith-based organization working to address local issues related to poverty, met recently to discuss upcoming activities.
The group is joining with the Family Radio Network to coordinate the 88.5 FM Family’s Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive in Waushara County. The goal of the drive is to supply area non-profits with a year’s worth of cleaning and hygiene products for the families they serve including individuals who are without homes. Hygiene and cleaning products are not covered by Wisconsin FoodShare (food stamps / SNAP) program. The cost of essential items can be an additional financial burden for households with limited resources.
The Family’s Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive will run from Sunday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, March 15. Since 1992, the Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive has provided 6.7 million dollars’ worth of hygiene and cleaning supplies for Wisconsin programs. This is the first time Waushara County will be participating. All donations remain in the community where they are collected, both in material and financial form.
The Family Radio Network, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing contemporary Christian music and programming, as well as community outreach support across Wisconsin since 1969.
We ARE in Christ meets monthly to Advocate – Resource – Educate the community and congregations about local needs and area programs, and mobilize faith-based efforts to offer resources to the community. For more information, contact Pat at 608-807-9948.
